Nitrous + turbo on stock motor...

Just a question...My motor is stock internally, my turbo setup is in my signature. I understand timing, Air / Fuel, Boost...pretty much everything that is goin on under my hood, BUT...I know nothing about Nitrous. That being said, my car is very reliable on the street, and will run a high 13 second quarter mile at the track. But what would happen if I added a 50 shot of nitrous? Would this be a big big disaster with the added boost from the turbo and cause me to replace my oil pan due to the rods sticking out of it? Or would this be a safe and effective (drag strip use only) means of gaining that little more that I crave? If I would do this, I'd use a solenoid that only lets it spray at WOT. What are suggestions? This is just an idea that came into my head today, that perhaps should leave, cause I have a feeling that this is a very bad idea.

If your thinking about doing nitrous 50 shot is not going to do nothing much. I don't think nitrous is going to hurt the car. Theres a member here running 100 shot and hes got a video of it (i think its patmx5..something like that). I would suggest a wet shot instead of dry and hook up a button so spray when needed. If you want to go faster, raise the boost. Why go nitrous?

A 50 shot of nitrous on a boosted car is way more effective than on a N/A car. This is because not only does it provide more O2 to burn, but also cool down the charge air substantially. That 50 shot could end up being over 75 extra hp at the wheels.

it also increases the mass of the exhaust and therefore improves spool as well, it won't hurt, but ask patsmx5 for more info, he is all about it

you generally want nitrous to help spool an oversized turbo. you've got an itty bitty turbo.

I had a 50 shot on my '90 with the FMII kit and stock motor. This was back in the days where the tuning with the Link left a lot to be desired, especially with todays easy logging and affordable widebands. I went from 220 whp to 279 whp on the 50 shot. Spool increased about 1K RPM. It was instantaneous. I blew the motor at the strip though. I heard some knock but stayed into it to try and finish and snapped a couple rods and shot 'em through the oil pan.

+1 I used to run a little 20 shot on a boosted MX-6 back in the day just to cool the charge. It was like winter in July :)
