no boost
 

Hello all,

I'm finishing up turbo build. I started the car and it fired up first time. I'll have process and final images up in my build thread in a few days.

The issue that I'm having is that the system doesn't seem to be making boost. I've only started it in the garage. The boost gauge is still seeing vacuum. What should I expect? What should I be seeing? I have taken it up to 3k rpm momentarily (in the garage), but still no boost. It's a garrett gt2554 so I figured it would have gone into boost by now. Let me know what I should be seeing.

The turbo will only produce boost when the engine is under sufficient load to produce a large enough quantity of exhaust gas to power the turbine. Revving it in the driveway won't accomplish this.

In other words, everything is fine. Go drive the car.

I can't tell you how glad I am to hear that. All I have to do now is to make a heat shield, and put the nose back together. WOOHOO!!!
