This turbo any good?
Hi guys,
I'm on the lookout for a bigger turbo for the 5. I was originally thinking about a GT2560 or GT2860 but I've seen this for sale. Can anyone advise on how suitable this would be on a 1.8?
I know Savington is running one, but I'm not sure if he's got a built engine or not. Do you think this would be a bit laggy and a little bit wasted on a standard 1.8?
It's a GT2871r

I almost got a GT2871R with my BEGi S4 kit but I got a GT2860RS instead cus BEGi said that spool up would be 300rpm sooner with like 5hp less. I thought it was a good trade- especially because you don't even see that 5hp unless you run the turbo to the surge limit.

Circuit racing sir. I guess I'll check out the "show us your spool" thread to get an idea on how it drives, but I thought I'd check to see how many guys were running a 2871 on a stock 1.8 engine and their thoughts on the turbo. Whether if they thought it might be a little too big for sub 300hp cars.
