Hey guys, I have been researching PCV and crank case pressure. A number of folks suggest (and are) running check valves for the intake / pcv route in case teh PCV fails to seal out boost. Anyone know what the best inline 3/8" PCV would be to use in this case? I have spent last night and today looking for a solution but the best thing I found was a generic Chinese bit that didn't offer me any details.

I just got rid of mine due to oil still managing to get into the intake manifold (and actually condensing in the inlet pipe from my bypass valve.

Now I just run a catch can VTA. I may have one or two extra, but I'll have to track down where I put them, unless you want the one that came off my car.

How bad is the smell, honestly? It's a DD but I have heard the vented cans can smell awful.

I expect some oil will always get through there so I was thinking of the following: PCV -> Catch Can -> Check Valve -> Intake. I drilled out the valve cover port for the exhaust-side port, but I don't think I'll need a catch can over there (will get one if experience proves otherwise).

I don't smell it honestly, but there is a film of oil on my driver side which is VTA. Catch can has some collected deposits and I've toyed with running it back to the IM with the catch can in line...but I still think vapors are getting through. It's not clean air even after the catch can does it's job so I just left it VTA for now especially if I plan on increasing boost when getting retuned.

I don't do emissions anymore since my car is 'of age.'

I'm thinking about putting a catch can on the driver side, due to the apparent oil condensation (or a slash cut to get a vacuum draw)

Yeah and it has a 20psi ceiling, good for many folks but not quite up to par for running 25-30psi. Thanks for the link though!

I used ones like this:
