oil lines

do i have to have steel bradded line for my oil feed and does any one have pics of what ports the oil lines go too?

Braineack 04-06-2007 11:12 AM

yes. and yes, click my link, picture there.

Braineack is being a little terse, I won't say you have to have braided lines, just that if you don't want your engine to blow up you probably should. If you know what you are doing a stainless hardline could work well, or maybe socketless, but once you got done heat shielding the socketless hose you have spent enough for the braided anyway.

The stainless is much more durable. If you go with rubber lines, plan to replace them in about 2 years.

What do you need photos of? Oil Supply source? Fittings at the turbo?

Dude, seriously, click the link (and then read the whole thing) in Braineaks signature before asking anymore questions.

hard lines work well, but requires measuring and bending

I would certainly recommend you going with the -4AN stainless braided line. They aren't all that expensive, and it won't ever be a concern of whether it could fail.

Get the stuff with the teflon liner for sure.

Mouglie 04-08-2007 12:03 AM

has anyone made their own with that hard plastic tubing and SS braided sleeves? don't know if it'll support the heat but works wonders with my homemade IC cooler, lol...

90miata 04-08-2007 02:24 PM

i got my nitrous kit layin around can i use the line going from the box to the intake for a oil feed line?

Mouglie 04-08-2007 02:42 PM

probably not, oil lines and nitrous lines are made for opposite purposes, cold hot... IDK

We tried the sleeves. They do not look at good as the stainless lines. :)

36"

Return about 12-18" depending on the manifold....i always buy 24" and cut it down.

Stephanie Turner 04-09-2007 01:25 PM

We use 26" lines from the 1.6L block to the distribution bracket. If you were going straight to the turbo, I am sure it could be shorter.
