overheating
my 91 1.8 with link & avo turbo overheats.3/4 on the meter. I have a larger radiator. (Godspeed.)
Thermostat opens. Coolant fresh. No leaks. Fan running controlled by link ecu. Only when driving slow. Highway no problem. Could it be timing related? I am using the oem 1.6 coolant system on the 1.8. Waterpump is new, radiator new, cap new. I always thought the engine is low on power. So my timing could be off. (harmonic balancer fail) |
Stock fans?
1 stock fan no ac.
as for the timing: if the crank is at tdc is the pulley mark on 0? Got my engine build with a 99 crank in 95 block i used the best looking pulley. I also must say that its hot today.
Pulley mark at 0 when TDC. With the link there is a procedure to set to 10 BTDC. I found with the Godspeed and 2 Ebay fans that I wasn't getting enough airflow. Try adding another fan and/or do some ducting.
If your godspeed radiator is really thick you'll need another cooling fan. I second ebay slim fans. I went for the 2200cfm flavor.
My stock fans works on my thick radiator. You need ducting.
It's the big godspeed (52mm)
So if i add the ac ventilator (parallell) the problems must be gone?? Or do i need ducting too? With ducting you mean the front or the splash pan?? I still have the original black ducting in the "mouth". The Splash pan is long gone...(due to ic routing) I could hack it up and place it back... How about a coolant reroute? |
