Pintle vs Bosch..what do you prefer?
So correct me if I'm wrong, but stock miata injectors are Bosch disc style. As are deatschwerks injectors such as their 600's. The rx-7 PNP's such as the 460's and the 550's are pintle style. Word is that the pintle style is the best injector type you can use, but I had better luck with the Bosch style. Is there a difference and a reasoning that you guys would use one before the other? My reason is...my 460's were cleaned, but i still got that infamous MS "pop" when turning the key on, which is said to be caused by fuel leaking past the injectors. I have heard that it was cause the injectors are cleaned with water based cleaning solution and if they sit on the shelf for a while, they rust internally a little, causing them to not seal properly. Thus, your rail stays pressurized after shutdown, so the fuel leaks past the injectors. If I put my stock injectors back in, even if they sit for months, I have no problems. Give your opinions / experiences please!
