Where did you convert that? I think it can get as high as 115. But there is no true way to rate e85 on octane. Iowa RFA 100% ethanol is ~115 octane, not e85. |

What I have done in the past was to have the machine shop hone the bore straight with a stiff hone, then build up the re-used oem piston skirt with shot/bead blasting. This creates a dimpled surface that will hold oil and will slightly build up the piston diameter so it will fit the bore properly. Hatch Engine Service does this for me locally, I'm sure that you could find a shop in your area that provides a similar service'
Also, be sure to properly clearance the end gap of the top ring; it'll likely need a little extra expansion room for high boost track/race applications |
