Default FPR Install question

My new Synchronic FPR just arrived in the mail. Looks slick.

Anyway, I have to tap into a BOOST ONLY port. The instructions suggest to tap into the intercooler piping just before the throttle body. In other words, drill hole in my shiny new pipes.

Are those two fittings just above the throttle body boost only? If so, can I just tee into the hose going from my recirc BOV or the cannister instead, or does the FPR need a dedicated boost only source?

Thanks!

it has the two ports correct? the vacuum/boost and boost only.

the vacuum/boost can be anywhere off the manifold (two ports on TB)

the boost only will be between the compressor and TB (MBC)

which model did you get....good luck, let us know how it goes/works

So just tee into the line that goes from the compressor to the wastgate actuator? I don't have any boost controller atm.

I got the SC001. I'll write it up as soon as I've installed it and set it up.

How would it release? Once boost went into the regulator the check valve would keep it there.

Update: I got the wrong model. Even though the website says the SC001 model fits the Miata, it doesn't fit the '91 Miata. The SC002 also fits the Miata. I should have taken a closer look at the pictures because they clearly show the SC002 with the nipple with the O ring and the open mounts.

Anyway, I sent the SC001 back, but the SC002 is on indefinite backorder from the distributor.

Yeah. The retailer says it could come in anyday, or maybe not til next month.

I have an account credit with the retailer so I'll just hang on for a bit. I tried to install it and they wouldn't normally take it back if it isn't in resellable condition. Since I told them I'd order another one, he told me to just send it back. I'm kinda commited.
