Powercard-pro on a turbo; Anybody tried it?

pc pro seems promising, has anybody tried it on a turbo set up. those supercharged guys on that :bowdown:other miata site:bowdown: seem to really like it. i like what i have read about it, and it appears to be able to fix my needs. i'm tempted to try it out, but i've never known of anyone to use on their turbo car. opinions please.

If it works as good as Tom from FFS says it does it might be a nice solution. I'm sure it has it's limits, but may prove to work....I'm pretty sure I read of one account of it on a turbo. I'm just not too familar with exactly what it does to know how good it can do.

Isn't Tom offering one up for free right now for testing? There was another thread about that.
Wait might be for NB's only.

nb only, why?

chuckerants 01-11-2007 10:38 PM

I don't know about NB only. Why not just call him up and ask? He's really easy to talk to.

If not, I'll be seeing him on Sunday to update my PC Pro. I'll ask him.

Also, yes the PC Pro is all that. Have you seen the AFR on one of the dynos? It's flat, flat, flat.

You can adjust the PC Pro's fueling on the fly and the fuel add/subtract feature is divided into 3 RPM ranges as well as being able to change the slope and the whole AFR up or down - all on the fly.

Damn, now I can't find the thread.

I ran the PC on my turbo, (and a Bipes for timing)the PC - Pro has a little more adjustability, from what I have read it may use the stock o2 sensor to help adjust it's A/F's???
One of the cool things is they can use it on the 1.6's.
But it is a fueling only solution, on most of our cheap turbo set ups we need timing as well for a little insurance...
If I ever buy an NB, I would order's Tom's kit.

You mean the thread that links to the thread about someone named chuckerants going to a miataturbo site and spying on them? :)

There was actually someone that posted a dyno graph of their car using the PC Pro. That AFR was probably as flat as I;ve ever seen (not that I've seen a huge number, but I've seen mine on the PC and the ELF).

The latest issue of Grassroots Motorsports has a short article on the basic powercard. It looks like it does a good job of adjusting the fuel flow. Hopefully someone will test the pro version soon.

I believe Tom just sent out a PC Pro to someone with a turbo.

As for the PC vs PC Pro, I've had both and whereas the PC was non-adjustable, the PC Pro is as adjustable as some of the other piggyback ECUs (except for timing control) and is light years more advanced than the PC.

Braineack 01-14-2007 09:05 PM

I'd like to see how it handles the top-end of the fuel curve after the ECU runs off a map.

I'm not sure I understand your question.

Braineack 01-15-2007 12:07 PM

when larger injectors are being used on the OEM ECU is tends to dump in a shitload of fuel just after 5.5-6k since it reads off a predetermined map vs. airflow & whatnot.

It's visable in most AFRs of most FMU/Bipes setups when boosting with larger than 265cc injectors.

F20turbo 01-27-2007 01:49 PM

what does the PC pro do....lengthen the injector pulsewidth to gain more fuel w/ stockish injectors?
