Pre-release Announcement for the AXON: the flat-black of EBCs...
2G Engineering, LLC. is pleased to announce the flat-black of electronic boost controllers: the AXON.
The AXON will be aimed at the no-nonsense boosted folks looking for the accuracy and precision of the big-name EBCs for a much more reasonable price. It will feature multiple boost setpoints, peak pressure and current pressure readings, battery voltage display, an easy-to-use rotary knob for scrolling through menus and a CAN expansion port for new features down the road! Right now we're in the testing phase for the AXON. I've been running various versions of it for several months, and a few of our forum members will be testing and evaluating them in the coming weeks. We've got a wiki/forum website up and running now, and I'd love if you folks came over, registered, started up some dialogue and conversation about the EBC, future revisions, future 2G products, posted questions on how the AXON works and who/what will benefit from it. http://wiki.2g-eng.com Come visit us, and let us know what you think! |
Sorry if you want all questions over there, but...
How much? I like trying new things! Maybe this thing can control 2 turbos better than my AEM tuning :) |
Final pricing has not yet been set, but it will be the the least expensive EBC on the market...probably by a long shot.
|
How do you get one?
|
You will order it from the 2G Engineering when we're through testing (hopefully in about a month or so).
|
easiest install ever. I'm still too lasy to hook up the vacuum line. But wiring the 4 wires was a piece of cake.
|
Well that's good news :-)
Yeah, I've not had a chance to hook up the latest version yet, either. I'm still running with with a separate GM MAP sensor feeding to the board as well as a separate ground for the solenoid. Let us know how it works when you get a chance! Edit: So, did you install it in the cockpit? As in, you're going to run the vacuum line to the cabin? Keep us posted over on 2G :-) |
Yeah I installed it in cabin. I'm just going to tee off the boost gauge vacuum line. It's really not that I'm too lazy, I just misplaced my tee fitting. The rest is all hooked up.
|
Hooked it up, holds strong and spools it fast. Overall I'm impressed with the ease and simplicity. Now if I can only get my car from burning oil....
|
Great! So how much boost are you running and at what duty cycle does it seem to work best? Oh, and are you using the GM solenoid or the other one you had? If you selected "Other," do you have a part #, brand name or any other info. on it?
I imagine you've not done a whole heckuva lot of testing just yet, eh? |
not a whole lot. I used the supplied soleniod. Duty cycle 60 at 10psi.
