Putting on a bolt on, good or bad?
is putting a bolt on turbo on a 97 miata that has 115k miles on it a good idea?
|
Weld on turbos are safer.

How big would you go?
|
Bolting a quality turbo kit onto a 115k mile well-maintained Miata? Great idea.
Bolting an eBay turbo kit onto a 115k mile well-maintained Miata? Horrible idea. |
@savington what are some brands that are good quality?
|
if all else fails, JB weld it on

Judging from your ignorance, it's a bad idea. After a few months of reading and searching here, it won't be such a bad idea.

There is a kit that will better your knowledge about modifying and doing custom work to make a turbo work on a Miata. It's from an eBay vendor called "ilovetacotaco". Seriously. If you buy that kit, you will learn a lot about custom fitting parts and even how stuff works. You could buy a kit and bolt it on, but what will that teach you?
As far as owning a '97, be sure to get a mspnp gen 2. In fact, that should be the first thing you buy. |

Dude, is this your first internet forum? If so, then I apologize, but for crying out loud, would you please read some of the sticky's! Go to the MEET&GREET forum like a good noob and make an intro thread... but first READ THE STICKY'S!!! Particularly, read the second sticky in the MEET&GREET forum, then go to the DIY TURBO forum and read the DIY FAQ sticky. Then come back and ask your questions. |
so fuxking sorry that im not a miata "expert"
sorry that i went on a forum to ask a question that i guess offended every one on this shitty site. dont worry about "reporting" this thread im already gone peace |
