question/advice for those having turbo issues

For those of you who have been having issues, did you prime the feed line before you started the car up? It's not something that has been brought up much on here and just wanted you guys to be aware that if you fail to get oil flowing to the bearings PRIOR to starting the car, you can damage things! I was thinking about this today for some random reason and just wanted to post it.

I just put a little oil in the feed fitting on mine and spun it to lube it up. The I reattached the feed and started her right up.

Hmm. Just started mine up. Seems fine. I can't imagine an oil feed line with no restrictor would take much time at all to get oil up. I suppose it's a good idea, though. Even just squirting some oil in the turbo with an oil can before putting on the line would suffice.

I rebuilt mine before putting it on so It was prelubricated with engine oil. I think the issue is many people getting new BB units and not oiling them or primping first.

There is also the fact that a large majority are buying used turbos. Which implies a large amount of risk already because you don't know the history of the turbo.
