Quick Preview of The Setup

Some people are asking for pictures of my setup. My brother got a new camera, so I asked him to take a couple pics.
Sorry for the night shots. Day shot's soon. Last minute thing. Oil cooler setup, coolant reroute, and the turbo manifold were the main focus. Enjoy. Welcome to comment. The whole setup is sweet, but the temp gauge in the cluster is hot fire. Is it as easy as it looks?
Very nice, I'm digging the inlet in the nose and the temp gauge. Also like the color, I'd been toying with painting mine GT3 RS bright green and I think you made my mind up about it.
very nice, is there a specific reason you're keeping the baby teeth?
wow, that is a great looking setup
baby teeth? u mean the tow hooks... lol i planed on taking them out as soon as i make a nice racing tow hook. and use that space to make a intake for the turbo or something....
thanks for the comments. i have to clean under the hood everything is real messy and dirty. when i have time ill clean it and show some pics of the car. it just came back from a 8 month sleep and really dusty and stuff. |
Request for a closeup on exactly how you mounted that boost gauge.
will try to get some pics... but its when my brother has a chance.....
i like your seat alot, how did you come across finding that?

and thanks for the comments... will post more pics soon. got a bigger turbo going on soon hopefully |
I like the pennies in the drivers seat. really shows how much you use it!
Daily driver FTW! |
post a pic of the whole car, that green is awesome
I like that front cut out.
Nice and rough...I wish i could do that to my bumper.
Is there a how-to on that water temp gauge? what sender? how did you cut out the pcb? how did you mount the gauge? Thanks How is that steeringwheel adapter? |

do I see a nylon-locking nut in the back? lol  and to answer the other question, the manifold was made by a friend and i. the only top mount tubular able to run a/s and ps. prob going to take it off soon and get it nickle plated. |
Request a pic or two of the whole car. I take it you track this baby? Love the work done on it - right on point all around.

Requesting pics of the collector. Looks like the 4th runner is aimed into the side of everything. No bueno.
Also requesting pics of the water temp gauge in the stock cluster. How'd you do that? |
Pretty cool car. Love the valve cover, almost looks like green ivory or something. Has a very plastic look to it. I also like that temp gauge. I was thinking maybe doing all 3 of the smaller gauges aftermarket, and relocate the fuel gauge and water temp to the radio cluster, and move the wideband and boost gauge up with the oil pressure gauge. Get all of your good info right in front of you, water temp and fuel can wait (well, water temp sort of, not for long though...) This gave me some ideas for my upcoming build. Keep up the good work, again, awsome car.
I'd fucking kill to do a tach, digital speedo, and a bunch of little gaukges for afr, egt, clt, oil temp, and oil pressure.
c'mon dude, hook it up with the how-to pics on the cluster. |

um ill try to get some pics of the other cluster i tested to make it work..... remember i dont have the camera... my brother does, its when ever he has time..and about the manifold, the 4th runner runs down with an angel and half a 90 degree aims it up with the collector. not the best angle but it works.. but i tell u one thing i thing the manifold makes power. deff felt he difference from others...

is that ganja between the seat and door sill? OP Car looks sick. What wheels are those? |
You rattle canned the hood I see. Looks way nicer like that than if we would have painted it green. Looks awesome man and im glad to see it finally doing what it was meant to do...drive lol. Heres pics of the car getting painted:

[ Guest ] I copied his setup although I have my wideband in the center instead of the boost gauge. 1.Get an autometer gauge cup. 2.Take out the center piece on the upper steering cover. The little rectangular part. 3.Put the gauge in cup and and slide the aluminum pressure clamp over it so its snug. 4. Take the gauge assembly now and make sure you squeeze the bottom of the aluminum tabs from the pressure clamp a little so the guage is snug. Place the tabs on the center piece and while still holding them snug, Place them on the steering cover where you want the gauge to sit, and mark the the two spots that the tabs will slide into. 5. Make two slits on the area you marked for the tabs. 6. Insert the tabs with the whole gauge unit assembled into the two slits and then bend the tabs on the bottom so the the gauge is held in place. 7. Put the center piece back on the steering cover and thats it. |
thanks for the how-to. Can i use the stock sender, or is the replace sender the same size and thread pitch as the stocker?
http://www.jegs.com/i/Auto%20Meter/1...0002/-1?CT=999 I'd like to use the stock 1.6 sensor hole (on the side of my 99 head) 1/8npt? |
Man, I'm really liking this car. did you paint that in the garage? because I'm considering painting mine in the garage as well lol
i could almost cut my bumper like that...almost. Its by far the best looking bumper cut I've seen.
Car looks very cool! That green is great! I can sense the envy.....by hustler in this thread.
leatherface: Did you paint this car? I know how you change paint like I change wheels. |
thanks for the comments guys.... will post up some vids and dyno sheets soon..
what did you use as a template and measurements for the bumper cut-out?
Yeah, I painted it in the garage where I do all my paint work. I'll be painting mine again soon.....for the 4th time LOL
yea i used a template... i had the guy at my shop that does on the sticker and decals for the race cars.. make me it. then just centered it and cut...
not bad, the night shots had me "ew"ing at the green, but it doesnt look too bad in the light :)
man, I wish I had painting skills like that. my most recent Miata has some bondo in the rear fenders, I hear it's a lot more prep involved?
what size water temp gauge is that? 2 1/16 or 1 1/2 ?

Very different and very dope. I love everything except the cut out in the bumper, even though thats all the rage these days.
