i got a te05 12b for free this turbo is in perfect condition minimal side play and no in and out i actually think it was recently rebuilt because there is still writing on the inside of the compressor housing, and it was pulled from a 134,000 mile car. i can get the compressor housing off, it's just a snap ring. but the turbine and whole center section won't budge. any experiance would be helpful. If it comes to it i'll soak it in oil for a few days and see what happens. thanks guys.

In my experience, reclocking a used turbo almost always requires heating the housing up with a torch. Usually if you just unbolt the exhaust side and heat it up it doesnt take much effort to spin it around and remove the exhaust housing,

BS^ have you done this before? It's retarded hard look for my thread on it..... use pb blaster and let it sit for a day or so..... seriously then the fun begins pound, pound, pound; curse, curse, curse!! Sooner or later it'll break the damn seal!!! Then your good to go!!

Agreed. Any turbo (Except new out of the box) is a massive bitch to move. Like you will pound on the thing until you've thought you've broken it 5 times, and then it will budge a bit, and you just keep going along those lines. Took me quite a while to get my T25 unseated.

Yes I have done this many times before. Most recently I just picked up Savington's old turbo and took the exhaust housing off so I could get the face milled flat.

The key here is HEAT. You NEED a torch. If you sit there with pb blaster you will be pounding all day to get that thing off. Ive done that in the past and ruined a T25 like 10 years ago when the exhaust housing was angled when I was pounding it and the fins got bent.

Oxy-acetylene torch is your friend here.

I just used a hammer on all of the turbos I took apart, which is probably close to 30 of them. But make sure the compressor housing is still attached or you will damage the wheel.

I put mine in the bench vice and heated it with a heat gun. Then after about 10 smacks with a rubber mallet I was good to go.

why? it's almost new and i only plan to make about 180whp. some of the saab guys claim over 230 to the wheels with them.

x2 on PB blaster and a BFH. I let my T25 sit over night with generous PB Blaster, then beat the crap out of it with a brass mallet. Took 4 hits for it to pop.

i don't actually, i was just going to make a log style. This going to be a pretty low budget build. that turbine housing looks really small, i can't imagine it lagging to bad. i can't actually find any specs online for it that are in english.
