Rough draft...setup...thing
Here's my rough draft of a setup I've come up with. It's a rough draft because there are some blanks where I haven't really decided what I want or will wait to see what kind of deals I get before I decide. I'm not building it for a good 9 or 10 months so I'm going to slowly collect the parts over that period of time so I can try to get the best deals.
Going for ~200-220 whp @ 8-10psi 14B w/ O2 housing JGS Mani Custom 2.5" DP w/ flex pipe & O2 bung WB O2 sensor & AFR guage <2.5" race pipe or free flowing cat> *is a race pipe really THAT loud? FM turbo single-outlet exhaust <insert oil feed & drain line kit here, inexpensive kit or DIY> Emanage blue boost guage SMIC RX-7 330cc or Supra 305cc injectors ACT Extreme Clutch & Fidanza Fywheel <insert MBC here, possibly DIY> <insert BOV here> <insert turbo timer here> <insert fuel pump here, if needed> (I'm told the the stock pump will probably be fine for my goals) One of the main reasons I went with the 14B is my DSM friend is replacing a lot of the crap in his car so he's selling me a good condition 14B, O2 housing, J-pipe, SMIC and lower I/C piping for $175. I'm planning on getting a MIG welder so I can get some practice in and hopefully be good enough to fab some of my own piping by the time installation time rolls around next summer. Comments/opinions/suggestions/airborne feces/mumbling welcome  |
I would go with fluxcore over mig, cheaper and easier. And later on you can convert to mig

QUOTE] My car has a race pipe and an Enthuza Budget Turbo exhaust and the exhaust is a nice sounding loud. With the cat in place, the exhaust is noticably quieter. My friend has a Spec Miata and his car sounds very loud. So, for N/A you want the cat in place, for a turbo setup, no cat is liveable. It sounds like you have all the bases covered for a 200rwhp car. I don't really think you need to waste money on a turbo timer. |

It's still a perfectly legit goal to aim for, though, as there are things us DIYers could learn from a really efficient build. |

That'll work! :) |
I have almost the same plan, except Im using a 16g. I think the spool will suffer though.. so the t25 isnt off the table yet.
