RX7 AFM problems
I put the rx7 afm in and the car won't move in gear above like 1500 rpms.
I can't get moving any faster than 5-10 mph and it seems to run smoother if I leave my foot OFF the gas. I made sure it is plugged in. It will rev very roughly and is basically undrivable. No CELs. I put the original AFM back in and it runs perfectly. I can get a video if need be. Is this just a sign that I need to adjust the AFM or maybe it's no good? |
Is this another joke? Or are you being serious?

I'm serious. |
Doh, wrong thread and wrong person. :)
Anyway, sounds like you are probably running REALLY lean. I had similar idle issues when I used an RX7 MAF, I dialed in the fuel using my (at the time) emanage blue. I'm sure you just need to adjust the MAF, but you'll have difficulty getting it right with out a wideband. Jay |
did you adjust the spring tension?

Mmm this is all motivation to finish installing my wideband. |
nope, it's adjusted too far in stock form. needs like 6-7 clicks on stock injectors to run properly.

i had problems tuning mine but ive got it right now. do you know how to open the afm and adjust it? if so turn it on and rev it by hand at the throttle body and with your other hand play with the afm "slider/adjuster" ( don't know what u call it but you'll know what im talkin about) to find out if you are running lean or rich. then once you know adjust the coil spring accordingly. also make sure there are absolutely no leaks in your intake. this is extremely important! 90% of the time i thought i needed to adjust the afm i just had a leak in my intake somewhere. im on clubroadster.net if you need any other help. same name. i rarely come to this site.
