have you had any experience [good/bad] with EV14s? |
I've had excellent results so far with the following EV14 injectors:
- 445cc (FIC) - 650cc (FIC, fiveomotorsports) - 850cc (fiveomotorsports) - 1150cc (FIC) I do not like this EV14 injector: - 775cc (FIC, rough idle at 14.7, compared to even the 850cc. Tested on two cars, 1.6 NB and 1.8 NB2. 1.6 was running at 43psi, 1.8 was running at 60psi. Both showed exactly the same results.) |
ID1000's>all
|
I can't see how the ID1000 will be better than say, the FIC 1150.
|
I havent tried fic but you're probably right.
Both are top quality |

The RX8 injectors Denso part number is195500 4460 and are rated at 540cc@3bar. From what Reverant says, I'm not sure if I should sell them on and get some others type. I thought that they may have been on par with the yellow tops when it came to spray pattern etc..
|
I have a set of yellow tops, hint hint. The funny thing is, they are the same in physical size as your 540's, and also the same as a '99 miata injector. A genuine mazda injector part number is always "195500" followed by 4 numbers. 4450 is RX8 425cc's, and apparently the 4460 is a 540cc. I also believe that fuel pressure affects spray pattern, so maybe Reverant's tuning issue was also fuel pressure related?
|
You know the saying "you get what you pay for" is very very often accurate and true.
Most quality parts don't cost less then others unless they're inferior. Some things more so than others, but an injector is not something I'd want to skimp on simply because it is in direct control of your cars health and behavior. |

Reverant is not a n00b and I'll bet this would be the 1st thing he'd check to make sure its dialed in right. My buddy bought some crappy dsm injectors a month or two ago. They run like absolute and utter crap. We spent a whole night trying to dial them in. Tried every single fuel pressure setting we could possibly think of. In the end the car still hunts at idle, misfires at idle, and they are the most INCONSISTENT pieces of crap I've ever had the displeasure of tuning. I completely agree with Reverant. The inconsistency swings in AFR were well over 10%, which even a noob knows is WAY too much to be "ok" |

If the declared value of the part is high, yes, you will pay import taxes.
Try to import a used laptop for example. If it is inspected, prepare to pay up, even though it is used. |

The gift trick got old really quick. Even if it is a gift, the sender has a legal obligation to declare the "gift's" value. If that value is high, you get to pay the fees.

One of my favorite things is when people ask me to commit perjury so they can save money :)
|
Commit perjury and tax fraud, no less.

In Spain all is about tax fraud! Someone knows the price threshold when and object is subject to inspection?
I'm sorry, this post was interesting, lets talk again about RX-8 Injectors. =) |
