Saab 900 turbocharger
So this guy at work has an early to mid Saab 900 turbo and he tells me he has a turbo for it that he'll sell cheap. What are the specs of this turbo? This turbo, if I'm not mistaken, shares the same footprint as my SR20 T25. I'm thinking that this turbo wouldn't spool as fast as my SR-20, but it would make more power with less boost. Am I right, or have I been smoking crack?

I've been running a Saab turbo for two years p/n TB-2531 .48/.49 starts to spoil at 1,500 rpm, I have boost set for 10.25psi has no probs holding that to red line. see dyno:..........(although the dyno guy did'nt take it to red line)

wow, that is one nice flat torque curve!

Thanks !

Mines a Saab unit also. T3 .48 A/R turbine, 50 trim compressor. 7lbs by 2800 with no timing control. Should come on quicker with MS.
How much does he want for it? --Alex |
He told me cheap. Like maybe $20.

The flanges are completely different.

sorry to thread jack but what do people think about a saab turbo thats 42. cold side and 48. hot side?
|
Dude, for $20 I'd take it. At least you can get the specs off it for sure. Can't go wrong for $20. Use it with a new manifold or resell it. Depends on what your after. I'll have mine down for the NE dyno day. Same turbo I think.

JGS should have a flange that would work with that setup if you can do a little welding to your current manifold. You could always v-band a bell from the hotside to the DP.
