Picked up a sandblaster secondhand today from a local classified to freshen up some pieces before I bolt them on the new motor i'm building.
All pieces came out just as though they were new.

What media were you using? Just plain sand?

Also what compressor do you have. I've heard lots of conflicting information regarding compressor capacity needed to blast small parts like this.

I wouldn't have sandblasted that throttle body. Hope you don't mind it leaking.

wash that throttle body and oil pan REAL GOOD if you want your engine to last more than a few hundred miles.

and next time, use something non-abrasive on internal engine parts. corn cob, walnut, whatever.

I used actually used the finest media sand thats available for all these parts.
The sand resembles cooking flour lol

All the more reason to make sure those parts are washed spotlessly clean. Abrasives will get between the TB shaft & bushing and grind them down. If a a big enough chunk got wedged in there you might end up with a sticky throttle.

Could he just steam clean the TB? In my experience steam removes even the smallest of dust and debris.

I noticed that anti-corrosion plating was removed from all fittings. Hope you like steel rusting prematurely, unless you're painting everything Honda-Tech style.

this is totally off topic with the thread..

while i have the turbo in pieces right now does anyone recommend i port the waste gate?
i dont plan to run low boost, as much boost as i can more or less is more like it really.
