Default Installed turbo. Wierd MAP / kpa readings.

Did a search - turned up empty, its late im tired and frustrated, so here goes.

I just connected the turbo and had the car running. It idles perfectly.
I updated the fuel table for greater resolution in boost zones and attempted to VE tune. KPA goes down with throttle. Sits on 33 when idle.
Boost sits on -12 -> -2 at 3000 rpm...

I'm confused. So i don't want to apply more throttle.

Note the exhaust flange is hanging off the turbo with 3/5 bolts and leaking quite heavily. I'm also just running the dump pipe. EGR tube delete.
Turbo install - https://www.miataturbo.net/meet-gree...0/#post1343381

The car was also on stands...

Do these logs look normal?
Note that the VE table is fucked because of this, i blanketed +5 across the board so i was definitely rich and not boosting lean.

Few other questions:
Sandwich plate is leaking oil slightly. Now when i installed it the supplied threaded adapter screw did not apply any pressure to the sandwich plate. It ran out of thread.
Hand tightening the oil filter sandwiched the sandwich and seemed to be solid enough.
Is this how they normally are?

Just found a crack in the radiator.. sigh.

Yeah fixing the oil leak and bolts is tomorrows job. Need it working asap as i need to move it out of the garage.
2000 1.8, td04 13t.
Rev ms3

With my aspirated car... i apply throttle and the kpa increases and blue dot heads towards the top right of the fuel graph / VE graph right?
When i apply throttle at the moment i'm reaching 3k rpm however kpa stays around 30 and little blue dot heads right. not up.

Seems completely backwards to me.

Maybe i'm too tired for this now.

Using the rear port on the non-flattop IM.
Cars on stands, was a test flight really.

Try on the round, you apply no load this way.

Yeah, however that's a job for tomorrow.
Sandwich plate shouldn't spin freely on its bolt should it? Don't particularly want to apply more torque with the filter. I'll never get it off. Maybe a job for and trim the bolt.

Don't continue installation of parts, when the fit doesn't seem right. You make double the work and three times the headache. Don't rig this thing together, just because you want to hear it run.

I know it was late, and you were mad at the situation. Gawd knows I've been there many times. I'm like 25 hours deep into getting this stupid Sparco seat into my car. Here is what your post sounds like though :
Guys, car runs wierd. Don't know why. ITS all good except that

1. It has an oil leak
2. It has no exhaust
3. The downpipe is falling off

With these few things wrong, one would only assume that you have other issues as well. Take a break, clearclearyour head, go back and SLOWLY inspect and repair everything. BEFORE YOU TRY ANOTHER TEST RUN. once this is all done, put it on the ground and test drive. You will not make boos on stands or in neutral.

Alrighty, excuse my ignorance. It was behaving wierd because it was on stands.
Went for a bit of a blast down the street with no bumper, plate, or exhaust. (Downpipe flange is warped still - cant find the sander.)

She performed fine and had quite a bit of power for my conservative cruise. I only went to 48% TPS and 4000 rpm so nothing to fancy. Considering it howls like hell and its rainy i kept it kosher.

Re installed the sandwich plate and it clamped down fine. I think i simply carved new threads in the adaptor. However still leaks - this time from the filter. I did only do it hand tight.

Bit chuffed right now. Maiden voyage was a success. Cant wait till its dry. New radiator, injectors arriving this week and 15x9's are on the shipping container.
