Default HELP! Hole/crack in turbine housing

Hello turbo senpais ,

I recently bought this garret gt2560 as a part of a BEGi kit. When I got the turbo, I noticed a small hole/crack in the turbine housing. I contacted the seller, and was told that it is a manufacturing defect and not something to be worried about. Im hoping that some of you guys can give me your opinions... Is there anything that I can do to test if the turbo is still usable? Did I get bamboozled out of 850$?

Any feedback is appreciated!

And yes, I should have inspected the thing more carefully

Its not clear in the picture but the hole goes through the metal. Is it non significant because it penetrates to an empty chamber?

It appears that the area that was drilled and tapped for a bolt boss has opened all the way through the back. It should be of no consequence.
