20psi at high revs? Edit: you must mean boost PSI and not oil pressure. What was oil pressure at high revs while hot?

Sixshooter loses another CHRA but doesn't know why
 

CHRA was ok. Once it was off and compared to a known good one the shaft play was normal. So I put it back on and kept looking for trouble spot.

Slow spool was a result of a split in the IAC hose on the underside where I missed it the first time.

But I'm going to find a more open restrictor.

Straight 50 seems excessive.

I know that Florida is hot. I used to live there with a turbo car, remember? You set a better time than me in my own car the very first time behind the wheel at that Corvette event. :giggle:

But, actually, Florida isn't so much hot as it is humid. I've also driven that same car across Death Valley and gone blasting through the canyons of SoCal in summer when it was 120° in the shade. Lots of boost, lots of heat, nothing more than a stock 1.8 oil cooler... And yet I never once had to rebuild the journal-bearing turbo that originally came with a Greddy kit, or even found myself worrying about where the needle on the oil pressure gauge was midway up the fast side of Palomar Mountain.

I'd strongly counsel you to consider a multigrade 50. Farm implements use straight 50. Cars don't.

I used to run Mobil 1 0w40 all year round, and had great oil pressure with zero problems. They also make a 15w50 which should allay your fears regarding film strength while still being able to flow adequately when cold. And don't BS me, I know it gets down into the 70s overnight in Tampa. :D
