So off goes the last part of my Greddy kit!

After buying the Greddy kit and over the past year upgrading every single part except the turbo...well sent the turbo out today to G-Pop shop to get the T19 upgrade on the compressor. They say its rated for 320hp now. Should have it back before x-mas and I will give a report got all you still running a greddy turbo.

curly 12-08-2008 07:19 PM

price/website? why haven't I heard about this?

You and me both...I sent mine out a few days ago. The 19-T wheel isn't supposed to hurt spool to much either. I'm excited. I should have mine back in a couple of weeks

Here is where we sent it them.

Depending on the turbo with a normal rebuild should be under $600

Ben 12-08-2008 08:18 PM

Hell yeah.
Makes me want to get another 1.6.

kotomile 12-08-2008 09:41 PM

Might actually be nice to hurt spool a little.. tame the on/off nature of this turbo. Very interested to see how this works out for you.

miatamania 12-08-2008 09:50 PM

I was planning on using this turbo w/ a 1.8 motor once I killed this one, so we might have some great comparison data soon.

Fireindc 12-08-2008 11:08 PM

wow, do want...

Let us know how it works out. Pics too please!

papasmurf 12-08-2008 11:58 PM

This sounds awesome, I had never heard of this either.

+1 on pics when you get them.

I'm betting it's worse and not better. Hope you got big meat in the back.

Worse in that it might increase the rapidness of the boost onset, or that it might simply move the "switch" higher in the rev range?

worse that it will come on at about the same time but come on stronger.

kotomile 12-11-2008 09:21 PM

Gotcha.

Someone who knows how to ride
Girl when I break you off
I promise that you won't want to get off

If you're horny lets do it
Ride it my pony
My saddle's waiting
Come and jump on it

Its back from G-Pop shop to get the T19 upgrade on the compressor. Also got a waste gate actuator that good for 14psi and is not much bigger than the stock greddy part. Can wait to put it on!

Here is the sex!:eek5:

Wow, looks amazing.

More pics after install!

SKMetalworks 01-07-2009 08:55 PM

how much did that cost for the upgrade? might be somethin i might look at later

Think it was $730 shipped with complete rebuild and the new actuator installed.

SKMetalworks 01-07-2009 10:38 PM

this sounds kinda noobish but whats the max HP of the stock greddy 15g turbo?

Most see 200-250 whp with a well set up greddy kit. This should add 20-40? I hope. Mine at 11PSI made 200 whp.

BenR 01-21-2009 12:09 PM

Have you driven it yet?

miatamania 01-21-2009 01:27 PM

You like the wastegate?

Pics of it install on the turbo/how you have the turbo clocked? If it fits, I might just order it from them, I didn't have the cash then...but I do now.

Thanks! (Did you get the car running again?)

Saml01 01-21-2009 02:07 PM

Wouldnt it have been cheaper to just buy a larger turbo instead of having yours rebuilt?

Prob, but I was not interested in rebuilding the manifold and the IC piping.

Yes it runs, waiting on the MBC, it does make 10psi on the WG they installed and it fits perfect! Going to get the MBC today, than 15 PSI yea!

Its clocked like the stock greddy, I'll post pics later. Also doe not look like it needs that much tuning, to 10psi itt just a little under 11:1 fo I'm good with that.

If you got the welding skills to put a new flange on the downpipe and possibly the manifold.

I was thinking he could have bought a larger turbo with the same flanges. Kinda like if you go from a GT25 to a GT28.

BenR 01-21-2009 03:42 PM

Greddy kinda fucked us on that deal. As far as I've been able to find the downpipe flange is odd.

Same here. Luckily we have brand new turbos capable of low 300s now. :)
