Some cool stuff burried on ATP website

V-band straight pipe and V-band cat would be a good start to any 3 inch exhaust. Pricing is good (and would be better with Wideopentuning) I'm sure. Frank |
WOW very nice stuff... I'll need them soon
|
Hmmmm. Any negatives to assembling an exhaust using a Vband exhaust adapter on a turbo and this none diverted downpipe? Where would one obtain the pipe with the lip for a Vband adpater to weld to the rest of the exhaust?
|
Buy vbands from racing solutions for $35 each and have them welded to the rest of your exhaust.

http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/gr...ube-225225.jpg http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me..._Code=ATP-FLS1 damn, but I think that I'll weld and use standard exhaust flanges, no v-bands for now... cheap way:gay: |
Nice stuff for sure.......;)
Also for anyone getting ready to build an exhaust...I found a new resonator that I love. http://www.verociousmotorsports.com/...sonator-12-OAL We installed one of these on a customers 540I. I thought it may just take the edge off the growl that this car had but it really quieted it down. I was really impressed it made that huge of a difference and it was that compact. |
Thanks for the info on the resonator, WOT!
I definitely prefer the tapered body of that Vibrant over the tin can transitions of the Magnaflow resonators I had been considering. I'm sure 99% of the exhaust gases flow straight through, but you know theres no way those 90 degree transitions are actually aiding flow. Glad to hear its effective and the price is reasonable too. |
Magnaflow used to offer a similar style that I was in love with but they are no longer available. I have a large Silverline resonator I will be using on the Gti. I may sneak one of these Vibrant ones in there to just to ensure I have near total silence.

I'm with ya on that one. Cat, huge resonator, another small resonater and a muffler is what I'll be running in the Gti. Its much easier to make a quick pull to 160 on the freeway without drawing to much attention when its quiet.
