I have finally installed my bipes, but after going for a short run it decided to die on me, losing all power, so i disconnected the bipes and connected the two CAS wires together so I could drive the car back home,but the same thing happened again, car keeps losing power and finally dies, then if you start the car back up again it drives again for a few miles before dying again.
my car is a standard 1.6 eunos no mods done yet, i have a Greddy waiting to be fitted, but I thought i would fit the bipes first, but sadly i seem to have a big problem now

The settings i had for the bipes are.
Switch 1: Open (1.6)
Switch 2: Open
Switch 3: Closed
Switch 4: Open
Switch 5: Open
Switch 6: Open
Switch 7: Closed
Switch 8: Closed
Switch 9: Open
Switch 10: Open

I hope I have not damaged my ECU, what if i disconnect the battery would this let the ECU reset itself I have just checked one of the spark plugs it was covered in black soot.
Please can anyone help me out here

My guess would be the ground. A poor ground connection can behave like that. Unhook the battery and leave the lights on to drain all current and reset the ecu.

Black soot doesn't happen on a test drive, it's been there a long time.

Instead of tapping into the ECU wiring harness for the ground source, connect the Bipes ground to the chassis... any bolt in the passenger footwell will do.

Look at the connecter at the AFM. Make sure the connecters at the ECU are plugged all the way in. Have a good look over the harness at the ECU, maybe it's possible you've messed up something there.

I will put a separate ground in for the Bipes as you suggested, but at the moment it is disconnected so the problem must be with the ECU , i'm going to check the connect plugs on the ECU just incase there is a bad connection

I have just check the ground and it's ok, but i did find that the air temp pin in the connection block to the ECU was not pushed in all the way and i disconnected the battery, so the ECU could reset itself, took it for a drive after and everything seem's ok, I will try later in the week to plug the Bipes back in.
