Default T3 turbo sizing question

I might be having second thoughts on some of my build here. After seeing some of the options that will soon be available for v-band manifolds and all I might just switch to a different turbo if needed... What I have is an old Saab Garrett T3. The Turbine housing has no wastegate and is stamped with a .63 A/R. Nothing else is known about it.

The compressor is a T4 which I bought from someone on this forum quite a while back that also has nothing other than .60A/R stamped on it. Guy I bought it from said it was a Turbonetics T04B S-3 (COMPRESSOR MAPS) but I haven't been able to confirm that yet 100%. Best I can tell this compressor should be good for 7psi but will be on the outer limit of efficiency and should also be good for around 26psi. Would this be the same turbine housing that I have, only a larger exducer? Housing, Tial, V-band inlet and outlet, GT30, .63 A/R: atpturbo.com

Basically I'm willing to wait a little bit and spend a little more monies on the whole v-band setup and forget about that stupid log crap I have now which isn't even finished if the end result will be more positive. My only concern is this compressor / turbine combination I have will be complete ****.. But I don't know, so I'm asking.

It's not the same. Best you could do it get a v-band outlet or machined v-band housing, but the inlet will be 4 bolts.

Measuring the wheels goes a long way. I've had a t04b-s wheel, it didn't stay on for more than a month.

Thanks again for the feedback.

I measured my compressor wheel and it matches up with the turbonetics specs for a t04b-s wheel; 1.904" & 2.750" with a 2.75" compressor inlet.

I'd like to double check my turbine cause its pretty strange, however I'm having a hard time locating specs to compare.. my wheel is 1.75" & 2.30" but the housing is kind of retarded. There is a "63" stamped on the outside and has a stepped exducer. This might not be the best housing to use for that reason, first part is 1.85", then steps to 2.25" with a std 4 bolt T4 outlet. From there I have a really nice machined ATP piece that transitions the outlet into a 3" Vband.

Can you give me a little more info on your experience with the t04b-s setup? Did you have about the same size exhaust housing on a T3 also? Was it really laggy?

a stage I t3 should be: 48.7mm exducer and 59mm inducer.

so its sounds like a standard turbine, just in a .63 a/r housing. It'll be a fun turbo if you're looking for top end.
