Looks slightly smaller than my intercooler which I thought was too small already.

disturbedfan121 05-26-2009 02:56 PM

he needs a turbo 1st

kotomile 05-26-2009 02:58 PM

I'll be impressed if you can make it work while keeping the endtanks stock.

samnavy 05-26-2009 03:01 PM

What are the dimensions and inlet/outlet diameter? What is the general consensus of it's power rating?

Bassmachine 05-26-2009 03:03 PM

This is just one of my random splurges on Ebay. But it will add nicely to my pile o' parts sitting in the spare bedroom.:jerkit:

For SRT4 owners, it's one of the first things replaced. The stock design is limited by the intrusion of the crash bar.

Christ, I bought a $60 chinese IC off ebay and it's running great. I wouldn't try to use that thing to save $30.

Vashthestampede 05-27-2009 11:27 PM

Make a shelf out of it or something.

Bassmachine 05-27-2009 11:41 PM

Mabey a nice Lamp?

kotomile 05-28-2009 12:05 AM

Sell it to someone who's been in a front-end collision with an SRT4...

And they already have shelving and nice lamps :giggle:

1990miata1.6 05-28-2009 12:53 AM

wont work i tried on back when i had 90 it will hit radiator but with some small modding will fit

dynokiller90 05-28-2009 04:43 PM

yes it will. I've been running one for a few years now on a 90 with a big Rad. no mods at all. stock end tanks and all.

dc2696 06-05-2009 12:23 PM

I've been using mine with my built motor @15psi for the last few weeks and before that a stock 1.8 @7psi on a 2871

It keeps my IAT's pretty low so I'm satisfied.

No mods to the endtanks, using a big rad aswell.

For the custom fab associated with using a stock intercooler from another car you gotta at least get a decent one! I sold the stock intercooler off my old evo VIII for ~$100 and they're not upgraded until a bit down the modification route (crazy since they run 19psi stock). What's next, "Found an FC Turbo II tmic for $15, wanted to stay oem mazda, check out my trashcan hoodscoop"

I seem to remember when starion, volvo, and FC intercoolers were the norm for DIY boosted miatas..not more than 2 years or so ago... did a decent enough job for low power apps.. why the hell not?

18psi 06-07-2009 10:22 PM

I'm using one and love it:)

kotomile 06-07-2009 10:42 PM

I'm honestly surprised that the SRT4's FMIC in particular fits with the way the endtanks run. Kudos to y'all for getting it to work!

hustler 06-07-2009 11:28 PM

turn it into an oil cooler.

$60 for a Chinese 26" IC w/ your choice of end tank design. Easier to mount, better performance, costs almost nothing.

True but my srt i/c only weighs in at like 3lbs vs the 20lbs boat anchor those huge cheap china cores are, and I like to believe its pretty effiecent.

I like my tube/fin alum ic, fuck you guys! Lol

My ass!

But anyway, good job on using that intercooler. I almost did a DSM one and glad I didn't.

You say it like I'm a retard that just tied my own shoes...lol

These things aren't that bad really, only one endtank is goofy and that actually helps clear my rad ;)

Plus there wasn't many cheap china coolers wen I built my turbo set-up
