:bigtu: well I managed to find a place in my area that sells ss tubing....Im considering buying two 3" lengths of tubing for My Ic piping for the saab...the size of the tubing is 2 1/4 , that should be ok to use

oh and they ask 13.25 for 3 feet of tubing...not a bad deal at all, they charge by weight of the unit and the total weight was 5lbs, I was told that using stainless steel would be a good choice for IC piping by my friend
|
holy crap batman! Thats a hell of a deal!
|
Nice Job. Stainless or aluminum is the only way to go.

yea sucking your engine's air through a rusted pipe isnt too great. kinda defeats the purpose of a filter. though if your compressor seals are bad tipically your pipes get coated with oil so you can get away with mild haha. :gay: thats a great deal btw!
|
no way man, aluminized exhaust tubing is the only way to go, preforably with the smash bends, those are very good for ait flow :gay:
|
LoL I was pleasently surprised to learn that The place that sells it is 2 4 miles from where I live....lol hell good pricing , now they do have longer pieces ...I believe like 16 foot long pieces ...but the only thing is that they charge like 5 bucks to cut ...lol small price for a good deal On ss piping

I don't know that you would see a terribly large benefit from it but i would think that running aluminum on the hot side of the IC and SS on the cold/TB side of the IC would benefit you with some extra heat dissipation. I doubt it would be that beneficial to mess with but has anyone had any experience with that?

I use an aluminum bend just post AFM....the airflow from my NACA duct cools it signifigantly to the touch. The MS bend to the compressor is noticably warmer.
Then coming off the turbo I have MS piping to the intercooler but a short section of aluminum straight that passes right over the ducts in the chin spoiler. That too is signifgantly cooler than the MS bend just prior to it (kinda like a pre-cooler). I believe in MS or Alunimum for hotside, due to radiating properties (help cool before the IC) and SS or silicone on the coldside for insulating properties (help retain the chill). http://www.rev2red.com/images/cars/d...dynoday013.jpg |
