John Stamos.

NOT THE POINT!! I'm just curious if anyone can tell the manufacturer so I can get an idea of the quality. The prior owner has it wrapped which makes me nervous.

No major vendor makes this thing.

Run it, if it ***** the bucket, make another one... Not like it would damage anything if it cracks so dont even worry about it.

The wrap is there probably to keep the heat away from the brake booster. Nothing of concern.

It only traps a lot of heat if your cat is plugged up and the rest of your exhaust is made of fallopian tubes..

Full 2.5" exhaust. No evidence that the cat is clogged. No evidence that the exhaust is any tighter than your mom's Fallopian tubes, which should prove spacious enough.

I posed the question because the prior owner had an OBX manifold installed, and i was curious if anyone could spot the DP. It is not unheard of to hear that wrapped DPs crack/flake due to heat exposure. Maybe no Miata in history has had a DP heat failure, I'm still new to this car. Sorry if that is a ridiculous question?

It appears that this is a custom setup, so more research is required. Worst case scenario is that I run the hell out of it and it cracks. I had a feeling this was a custom job, and you guys confirmed that.

Thanks for your help everyone

Probably not as much of a concern since it doesn't support the turbo's weight or deal with any real exhaust pressure. I'd put that low on the upgrade list.

It looks like a mediocre-at-best DIY job. If the owner ran it with an OBX, I'd venture to guess the dp is probably made of crappy material too, probably 18gauge mild steel or something. Wrapping it helps keep things cooler in the bay and trap heat in the dp (which is good) at the expense of it deteriorating way quicker than it should, for obvious reasons.

Thanks for all of the replies. I'm leaning toward swapping the entire manifold/turbine/compressor/DP setup in one swoop. Fresh start if you will...
