Swapping a 1.6 turbo setup to a 1.8

Hi I am currently looking into getting a Miata t. I found one but its a 1.6 turboed. My questions is lets say down the line the 1.6 shits out on me, can I swap all the parts over to the 1.8? Its a begi turbo setup tuned on ms pushing 220 rx8 injectors. Thanks for the help! I have tried to search for this but cant find anything about swapping the turbo kits over

The manifold will not be good and depending on your exhaust that may need some modding. Also if you have an intercooler it may need some reworking.

The 1.8 is slightly longer and it makes the downpipe sit back a bit further. Depending on your exhaust you may need mod it to fit.

I had top mount ic piping and had to manipulate it a bit differently due to the lost space between my engine and the sway bar. The manifold is the only thing not possible to modify in a pinch though so you WILL need a new one.

An engine is an engine. If you're putting a 1.8 in place of a 1.6, you don't have to touch the MS as long as you use all the 1.6 electronics like the coils and CAS.

Injectors work the same '90-'05, but obviously you're going to need more head room, since you're now fueling a larger engine.

I'm guessing you meant 440rx-8 injectors? I've never heard of 220.

what manifold does it have?

Yea sorry I meant pushing 220hp but yea it's got rx8 injectors so the seller says.

I am not sure my guess would be the one that comes with the begi s setup

then youd just buy a new begi manifold for a 1.8L. that's about all you'd need, that and the 1.6>1.8 FM install kit maybe.
