However, the sr20 t25 is what you want if you think the turbo will be upgraded in the future or are fine with ~200 whp. Cheap, rebuildable, and fits all the great t25 flanged DPs out there. If you're convinced you want an actual GT2554, check this out: https://www.miataturbo.net/miata-par...4-turbo-68968/ |
gtfo 200 with a t25. I have seen guys on this site make more at 15psi.
|
I made 225 with 12 psi.

Do some more searching for sr20 t25 setups, NOT GT2554 setups (unless thats what you are really after) What motor and specs are you planning on using? |
Sr20 t25 sounds like its what I'm looking for.. Thanks for the help guys :)
|
one last one for yous haha. what is the turbo called? e.g GT....
Thanks Andy |
It's just known as a t25 from a red or blacktop s13...the s14 is a t28.
|
It's also called an SR20, S13, T25, T25g... I think the S15 version is ball bearing and closer to a GT2560R.
Todd: Are the S14s significantly different from the S13s? Pay attention to the turbine AR though. There was some discussion a while back about a T25 pattern turbo with a .46 or .48 housing or something? Its small, like, really small. TOO small. Do a search here on MT and read A LOT. |
The s13 and s14 use the same .64 turbine. Same wheel size and all...I think it's 53mm? I'll upload better info later tonight.
The s13 uses a compressor (t25) with a 56mm 60 trim wheel. The s14 uses a t28 compressor with a 60mm 60trim wheel. The s14 is basically a journal bearing gt2560. The s15 uses a ball bearing chra. |
Thanks for all the info guys much appriciated big help :)

Don't buy a T25 from a Nissan 300ZX twin turbo. I did that and paid a terrible price. It's a very small turbo so I made 14psi at like 3000rpm, but once I hit 4500rpm my power went WAY down. It was an awful boost curve. It also uses a different downpipe flange than the regular t25 flange on the other nissans.
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1351089914 And yes, 200 torque at 3000rpm is ridiculous. First gear was so much fun with this setup, but every other gear was laughable. Also, if you wanted to be really cool, you could get a T28 from a Nissan Pulsar GTi-R. That would be a perfect fit. |
^^^your problem wasn't all in the turbo...

Dustin: Good lord... that turbo would be perfect for my mother and her 4500rpm shiftpoints  What exhaust was that poor thing trying to breathe through? I always thought of that as a small but viable turbo for a street application, what all went wrong here or am I way off base?
Also: lol @ "Meatyata" |

Uhh, maybe that is why it had shit top end. Any turbo is going to suck on a 2.25" exhaust.
|
what size of exhaust would yous recomend?
I have had a look at lots of T25G and either my computer is being usless or I am ( probably me) but what flange is on manifold I have seen 2 types, a circular one with 2 bolts and a square one with 4 bolts? |
