t28 question
ive been searching, but im new to turbos
my friend has a extra GARRETT A/R60 M24 1-2 and said he'd sell it to me for $150, is that a good deal? can i use that on a 93 1.6l miata? i want to turbo my car, but i dont have the money atm, if its a god deal ill get it and set it off to the side for the time being also, anyone know any info on it? (as always click to enlarge) http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...h_IMG_0753.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...h_IMG_0752.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...h_IMG_0751.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...h_IMG_0750.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...h_IMG_0749.jpg EDIT after finding the tag on the exhaust side, i did some more searching to find that its this turbo http://www.frsport.com/Garrett-GT256...WG_p_2303.html would it work good for a miata? |
if it's really a BB turbo then its very much worth the price. If not, its still not a bad buy. If that tag really indicates a GT2560R, then it's one of the most common turbos put on a miata.

ok, ill go ahead and get it from him then :) any idea how to tell what the wastegate is psi wise? |
Pump it up with a bicycle pump, you will end up boosting above 10psi at some point anyways so i wouldn't worry about it.

If the turbo is in good condition then yes, it's a great deal, but if it needs a rebuild, I'd pass. Ball bearing turbos are not rebuildable. You'd have to buy a new cartridge. It looks like it came off of a stock car, which usually means high miles.
