ya im sorry. i have a 1990 miata with the 1.6 engine. i am running the ebay cast iron manifold with a 2 inch spacer for my wastegate. so its the only one they sell on ebay..
thanks for the help, just joined the miata forum its a little different then the mazda6 one... |

i know its junk. all im asking is where i can find a down pipe will it fit, nope. since we have no idea what manifold this will be sitting on. |
im saying i bought the cast iron one off ebay and i added a two inch spacer for my external wastegate.

thanks for the help, just joined the miata forum its a little different then the mazda6 one... So lets see if I have this right: http://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/m/mQnP...f-NySg/140.jpg + http://thumbs3.ebaystatic.com/m/m9kv...54usPA/140.jpg And you want to know if there is an off the shelf downpipe that will fit? The answer, quite simply, is: FUCK. NO. You will have to make one. There isn't even a t3 outlet flanged downpipe for that manifold WITHOUT a spacer that I'm aware of, let alone a crazy hacked together setup like that. |
ha alright i know im just using stuff i had sitting around trying to make it work. i appreciate your help. i assumed id need to make one. do you no of any t3 down pipes i could use to base my build off of?
|
duh i just reread yours. where could i find one of those spacers to fit another downpipe

I'm confused.
|
hmm i ment a flange adapter to fit a prefabbed downpipe. since no one makes a t3 downpipe?
|
ok for the last time: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A T3 DOWNPIPE.
t3 refers to the turbines INLET footprint, NOT the outlet. Its like saying "bellmouth intake manifold" or "5 speed engine" or "6 cylinder transmission" However I THINK I know what you mean. You need a downpipe that fits the godspeed non traditional 5 bolt outlet. It looks just like the normal 5 bolt on t25's, but the dimentions are off a bit on each hole. Well if that's the case, your only answer is custom. They don't make downpipes like that. I know cause I'm running a godspeed 30r |
okay im pretty sure i said which turbo i had. I'm just trying to get some info! sorry my knowledge on turbos isnt the best.
|
check my edit.
I think that answers your question |
thank you ill make sure to be more specific with my future questions, i appreciate everyones help =]

You are making this so much harder on yourself. Just either fab one yourself or have someone do if for you, because for you custom is the only way to go with that setup, sorry it has to be that way but it will be easier in the long run. |
Collins, what you are asking for is the equivalent to this statement:
hey guys, where can I buy the 5-lug wheel? Since we dunno what application, offset, size, what not...we have no idea how to answer. T3 can have a variety of outlets. There are also only a few OTS T3 manifolds on the market, it is important that we know which manifold your turbo will sit on, because that will help us tell you where you can find a pre-made downpipe for that particular combo. But the short answer is: none. There are no good off the shelf T3 manifold/DP combos. However, with that said BEGi will be the best source for a T3 manifold and DP, you just need to send them your turbo first and they'll make your dreams come true. |
I bought one with the right stud pattern for the outlet of a Garrett t3
then cut the flange off spun it round drilled a hole and mounted the waste-gate on that plate, rather than the spacer, I think it was originally for a Honda civic. I think am going to just cut out a bit of 10mm stainless plate to the right size (use the gasket as a template) and bend a new down-pipe in one piece, if I do I will post some pics, the patched up frankenstien one works fine just looks crap :) making your own is pretty easy if you cant weld just cut it all out and tack it then take it to someone who can :) Another option is to buy any downpipe for any turbo (Miata) cut it off near as you can to the turbo and just make the last part, which will essentially just be a 90 bend with a flange welded to it. |
ya thats what i was thinking. i like your idea, if i have fitment problems im going to give that a try. making my own might look sketchy but its gotta be done
|
Just taken my own advice gone on the bay and bought the downpipe for the 16G I think (Don't care really) :)
I'm going to cut the top off and weld a new flange and 90 on it. much better to fit the waste-gate on the flange just tilt it back 45 degrees so it doesn't hit the bonnet, Sorry Hood :) My car is off for paint at the weekend so I won't be able to post pics but as soon as it is back I will. |

I'm also thinking along these same lines as I wait for my taco bell manifold and turbo to arrive Don't know about ebay steel quality for a down pipe but if it half decent it may be worth hacking one up rather than staring from scratch .... |
