I want some better cooling. The FMIC has def increase my coolant temps.

So Basically I wanted to know if any of you have any experience with a set up like this. I wanted to know if this will def be more efficient at cooling the car. Summers here at the track are hot as hell..

I wouldn't buy that myself, I'd pick up the two 1500 CFM Fans for 45 that Dan has a deal with in the GB section. Then build a nice custom shroud. Having a good shroud is very important. Problem is you probably don't have enough room to build a big shroud, but the thicker it is, the better it will pull air from the edges and corner of the radiator.

When you say thicker, do you mean the fans being further away from the radiator itself??

I will look at those fans. I have the stock amount of room behinf my rad. Its a koyo 37mm

Are your temps up sitting still when the fans are on pulling air? or when you're on track? or both?

while at rest the temps seem to be higher and when the fans come on and then go off it is at a higher temp than it used to be.
It used to be idling at a lower temp.

I hope I answered that clearly LOL

SO I want the fans pulling more air and keeping it coller and cooloing it quicker.

get a better radiator since ours suck and the slim fans with a custom shroud should run you in the rang that those fans alone cost. maybe you can convert the radiator that Dan organized a group buy on it s cheap but looks really good.

Do your OE fans ever shut off while you're stopped?

I've got a rather big IC, a/c condenser, and large rad with a single 16" spal fan. It's rated at 2700cfm and it pulls the temps down on the rad very quickly. At speed, with successive boosted runs, the fan never comes on. That said, part of your problem might be the nature of your "on track" being drifting. The car is at an angle to oncoming air half the time and your speeds aren't always high enough for oncoming air to make that big of a difference.

Do you have a/c? if not, both fans? wired together?

are MS yet? if not, will you go with MS? or EMU?
you may want to consider lowering the temp at which your fan/fans come on
if you are running on bandaids, you can just get a thermal switch to control your fans...
for the time being, if you want to rig something up, just run a switch and control the fans manually, its gettho but it works

Yeap, the further away the fans are from the radiator, the more evenly it will pull air.

Well these last 2 comments made me think,
The fans are not running all the time. They come on and shut off as usually. I have them run in parallel.

What is bothering me is that my temp gauge is showing higher temps. Its a new gauge. Like the type there was a group buy on. Its located in the front rad hose. My old autometer that seemed to be more in tune with the fans was located in the water outlet if the water pump.

M2: you are also correct. Being sideways is not allowing the air I need in there to cool. So That is another reason I want to put some beefier more efficient fans in there.

I run a techIIIr. The temp gauge for the fans is running on the stock ECU though..

I think better fans will make it happen for me.. Yes, no??

If you remember we never had overheating issues with our cars when we brought them out to cali. Basically we learned early on that cooling a high hp car traveling sideways was going to require something extra. The only thing that really solved 90% of our issues was to run both pusher and puller shrouded fans.

Do you have an oilcooler as well?
