Default Turbine Housing Stud Issue

I was going to tap the turbine outlet for 10mm studs since one of the holes is completely stripped out and another one is well on it's way. After talking to Stephanie at BEGi, since I have their divorced gases downpipe, I can't move up to 10mm because the holes on the downpipe flange cannot be made any larger due to the pipes getting in the way.

So I snagged a couple of 10mm-8mm step studs from 034Motorsports to see if they could do the trick. They look like they might do well, except for the fact that the portion of the stud that goes in the turbine is almost double the length than a normal stud's turbine portion.
How far can you safely tap into the turbine stud holes? These aren't insanely long or anything. I'll take some comparison pictures later.

Are there any other options that I could consider? I have to stay at 8mm to keep compatibility with the BEGi downpipe. I've been considering another downpipe since I haven't had a correct BEGi piece yet, but don't know of anyone making them ready to go other than FM.

yeah- why can't you just cut it to length? or am I missing something?

No, you're not missing anything. I could do that too. Just didn't know if it would affect the strength of the stud at all.

It shouldn't. You don't need that many threads to attain the holding strength of hardware. Just thread on a nut, cut to length, remove the nut and debur the threads/end.
