Test Fitting Looks Good!

Using a 90* silicone coupler I can use my exisiting intercooler piping (with slight modifications):

Downpipe is cutting it close to the heater hose, but I should be able to get it out of the way (water by-pass would help[but I'm too cheap]):

Intake piping fits like a glove / heatsheild still fits:

Looks good! I'm sure you could bend the heater core pipe a little to get more room. I needed more room than that, so I shortened the factory pipe and rewelded the end onto it. That's an option also, but it looks like you should be able to just bend it a little.

Looks good bro.. whats your heatshield mounted to? Can you get some closer pics (I guess I could come look but i'm lazy) ? I like that design.

The circled holes:

Turbotim: Exactly what I was planning on doing, should give me more than 1" of clearance, about what I had before with no problems. I'll probably wrap another layer of the heat sheild as well.

Is that long rubber hose coming from the intake from the bv?, Ummm...if so thats what they call "recirculating the BV" correct? si or no ?

Braineack 08-18-2006 02:14 PM

Correct. It plumbs back into the intake pipe.

i'll be surprised if that manifold cracks.

i think begi uses a new coolant tube that reroutes that heater hose.

Yeah I know, it also moves the lower radiator hose. Both would be benificial in my case. But no worries.

looks positivley breedable:bigtu:

the water re route should cost no more than $40 if you buy a new 1.6 thermo housing

1.6 thermo housing
random 1.25" rad hoses
2-3 feet of 1.25" aluminum tubing
hose clamps
30mm freeze plug

not sure on keeping the heater though, dont need it where im at

Sweet, cant wait to see it next time at Fudds. Ill return your spring compressors next time too. Why is your AFM upside down?

m2cupcar 08-19-2006 09:36 AM

another option- put a piece metal heater/coolant pipe in place of the long rubber tubing run and just connect it at both ends with short rubber tubing.
