Default Help! I have a turkey in my turbo!

I just did my intercooler install and now have major issues with I believe it's compressor surge when I lift off the throttle.

I have a smaller intercooler 18"x 12" x3" with 2.5" inlet and outlet
I did an over the rad from turbo to intercooler using 2" piping and to 2.5"
I routed around the a/c and rad using 2.5" piping to throttle body.
I have IAC hooked up and my BOV is 3" from throttle body.
I have the signal line for the BOV from the nipple right after the throttle body

After hooking everything up, It idled great, no leaks from spraying the couplers, and idle AFR's were good.
I took it for a drive in the parking lot and every time I would be in boost and then let off I hear this awful sound coming from the turbo side. Kinda like the turkey gobble.

From what I've read I thought I hooked everything up correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to check.
BOV worked correctly before when I was running non-intercooled but now I not so sure. Oh BOV is a knock off RS I also have a friends knock off type S but it has two vac nipples and I'm not sure how to hook that up.
thanks for the help

The vacuum line goes to the top nipple, the bottom nipple is left opened.

Can you hear the BOV blowing off? Its should be very audible.
It sounds like its just not opening either due to not getting a signal, or because its broken.

I can't hear the BOV cause the sound from the turbo is so loud! When I idle the car and rev it by hand I think I felt a little air come out but not much. I also am running on a MAF too.

I did try the Type S BOV but it made the car Idle crazy, up and down all over the place and would almost die when I let off the gas by hand. I could feel air leaking from that one at Idle. Do you think I need to run this BOV and recirc?

The BOV is supposed to be opened during idle, if its not opened at idle then its not doing its job, not very well anyway.
Thats the whole reason you have to recirculate.

It's easy to pinpoint exactly where the noise is coming from if you rev it up hard at idle with your head under the hood.

If I plug my bov with my hand and do this, I can hear the compressor surge.

Ok, Well I will pull the RS and put on the S and figure out how to recirc back the turbo inlet. Thanks

I also noticed that it seemed like it was a little harder for me to get into boost, is that normal when running an intercooler?
I seemed hit a lean spot also near O* then it felt like it would kick in. How do I correct that? I have the Begi I guess middle version of their RRFPR. Not the newest one. Do I need to adjust the onset screw tighter?

I think I may have heard it like that but it was very faint. Just a little squeak.

When I rev though I never get over 0* on my boost gauge though.

gotta rev all the way to redline. should build 2-5psi.

adding the IC shouldn't make it any harder to get into boost, or feel different.
