Things to double check before dyno tuning

I'm getting tuned this Monday. TMK, I've done everything I can to ensure a trouble free day at the dyno but I wanted to hear any words of advice of those "little" things to check that you may have had an issue with.

Basically I've gone over..

-Full fuel system (including new filter, pump and injectors)
-Turbo system (lapped flanges, new hoses where needed etc... no exhaust leaks AFAIK)
-Cooling system (bled cooling system)
-Clutch (new/used centerforce clutch)
-Boost control (staying simple with a manual boost controller)
-IC piping (checked for boost leaks up to 20PSI)
-MS1... all wires are tucked and checked for continuity
-COPS... installing these tonite. These are my biggest worry. I have an MS1, and not sure if I will need the resistor. I've also seen 2 diagrams where there is a second resistor/cap in the harness. Which one is right?)
-Oil (fresh Rotella T6 5w40)

And my last question... I have my stock 1.6 diff in the car right now. I have a 2 way Mahura sitting in my garage in a case all ready to be bolted in. Now I've read that dyno tuning can prematurely wear out a 2 way. Should I keep my 1.6 in there and wait until after tuning to put the new diff in or do it now?

-... Give me some words of advice :D

Looks like you hit most everything normal. The only other little detail I could recommend is to double check all vac lines. Clamps on every larger one, and a zip tie on the smaller ones. Just about every boosted car I've ever seen on a dyno has blown off at least one vac hose mid pull and it's those annoying little things that eat up tuning time.

I replaced all of the lines a while ago and IIRC put zip ties on all of them. I'll double check again.

Installed the COPS today. Car works well, runs nice but my tach is dead. So I'll need to make sure the get that running properly tommorow.

Will you be using your laptop for tuning?

Hi Im Simon 05-16-2010 05:50 AM

double check your plugs
pack up some tools, bolts, couplers, clamps, etc. just in case anything is needed.

also some fresh undies just in case your car blows up and you shat yourself.

make sure timing is correct. I've gone to the dyno, found i was low on power, and later discovered I was 5* retarded.

Timing is set, plugs are new going in today (bringing a spare set tommorow). I'm not tuning so I'm not bringing my laptop.

I like to reference evans tuning checklist before going to dyno a car. Here is the link http://www.evans-tuning.com/pre_tuning_checklist.html. This mostly refers to Acura/Hondas but is some good info.
