Thoughts on ARTech Log Manifold

not a huge fan.
pushing so much air through those last few tee's for the 4th cylinder. |
Even if it's performance is no worse than a standard log, I'm not sure why you'd consider this over the Trackspeed cast manifold.

The manifold will hit the 300whp goal you mentioned. Didn't see an actual question to answer otherwise.

Thanks for your thoughts on it.
Ya, it's almost impossible to find a 1.8 mani with a td05 flange. Also, I needed it to be simple enough to build myself. I made a copy of the manifold pictured in mild steel for about $130 using a prl exhaust flange and sch 40 mild steel weld els. You should buy a gt2860rs or efr with ARtech , FM , trackspeed or whatever log manifold you want that will utlimatly allow you to have a setup that can be improve instead of being stuck with weird mitsubishi flanges . my two cents fwiw |

So if you are fabricating yourself, why not put the flange on cylinder #2 like most normal manifolds?
I just dont see how this log can possibly flow well...? |

I was building my own manifold regardless, so it doesnt matter to me which flange I put on it. I wouldnt say my 16g is just something I had laying around, it will probably spool up like a gt2871r and be good for 380whp (member here did 349whp at 20psi with a e316g) It's a great match for the miata. I respect the guys using an efr but I am not about to jump on that bandwagon, there are other good turbos out there that wont run me $2k canadian. The efr and manifold route you are suggesting is over $3k, that is absolutely out of the question for me.
Still I feel like a T2 flange is a more versatil option , but I guess you could still use a 20g if you ever need more . I'm a fellow canadian too !! I live near Montréal , where are you located ? |

For a log that has the turbo centered on number 2, the number 2 cylinder charge still goes towards number 1 and number 3 when it comes out whether it's what we want or not. Similarly number three goes towards number two and number four. Makes no difference where the turbo is. Since logs do a very poor job of directing the charge the best you can hope for out of a log is that the volume is relatively small yielding a quicker spool. This one accomplishes that just fine. |
exact reason why I never build log manifolds.
