Default Jesus christ my car is LOUD.

How do I quiet down the turbo noise? Has anyone done anything like an intake silencer? My VTA BOV doesn't help, but that's an easy enough fix. Below 5000rpm the turbo noise overpowers the exhaust note.

I would be down for a drive sometime too, ive gotten my car running pretty smooth as well. As for the turbo noise, i really like it, but I suppose a longer intake tube would help, or an intake box of some sort, maybe a modified miata box?

It would be so badass on the track, but it's just too loud for the street. I'll take some video so you guys can see what I mean. I can't hear my exhaust over the turbo.

see if it is the same outside the car. if it is...that sick and you need a turn down to make you exhaust louder.

That might be the .net link on how to really make it quiet.

Maybe your turbo is broke? And what you are hearing is actually the sound of busted.

i would say why buy an exhaust when the downpipe does it for you, but then i noticed that you live in cali and would be shot for having no CAT.... and whats up with them crushing young ricer's cars anyways?

I'm getting used to it, although merging onto the highway without this insane FSHEW is practically impossible.

Dude my car was exactly the same. I was running a test pipe to a 2.25 " midpipe to a small turndown and the combination of it all just made the turbo spool insanely loud. When I drove past you making 5+ lbs. of boost it would no joke hurt your ears. Everyone knew my car for the really loud turbo. It was ok for me cause inside the car the turbo wouldn't hurt your ears. For other cars though...haha. Then I had to get a cat so I could get my car inspected so I went ahead and got a High-flow cat, full 3" exhaust all the way back... no muffler or resonator. The spool is much quiter than what it was, but soon I will get a test pipe in again. I think that the noise wasn't just the turbo. I think that the air rushing through the intake might have combined with the whistle of the turbo to make just a super high pitched loud whistle.
