Tre Performance Fuel pumps
Has anyone used one? they say the flow as much as Walbro but are much quieter. They are cheaper by about $35 BTW. and have a one year warranty...regardless.

link?
I don't mind the hum of the Walbro, it lets me know the pump has primed. |
Yeah, link. I need to get a new pump (currently stock) and I'm interested in opinions.

That was definitely not what you meant to post, haha.
|
Main thing I notice is the black sleeve the pump is in. Wrap a walbro in a similar fashion and I bet the noise reduction is drastic. Price saving is good, how is the reliability though?
|
i have one, no complaints
|
i have one of their stock replacement ones. other than the crappy universal pickup screen (too short and wrong angle), and some plastic parts not fitting right, its a good pump i think. Been running it for close to 5000 miles now.

Thanks for the Feedback. I'll try it.

Is there any advantage or disadvantage to running a larger pump than you need? I ought to be set with a 190 according to one of the FAQ. Other than future upgrades, is there a reason to get a 255 instead? Would there be any problems?

I have!I'm running the TRE 255LPH in mine now.It jacked my idle pressure from 35psi to 55psi.Could have popped my regulator though. Its the original one I think. There was so much fuel my bumper turned black around the pipe.It looked like a GT car!It was kinda cool actually.I ended up putting my old blue top injectors back in.
|
Edit to my last post:
Well mabey it didn't raise my idle pressure. I disconnected my fuel line yesterday and noticed the gauge was at 15psi with no pressure on it. It must have gotten messed up somehow. Subtracting that from my recent line pressure would put me at about what it was before. Somewhere in between 35- 40psi. Sorry about the misinformation! |
Ok, not to hijack the thread, but how much hp can the stock pump support with MS and upgraded injectors? The FAQ says I don't need a new pump but a lot of the threads make me think I need to upgrade.

FYI I have seen 255s over power the factory regulators in SOME cars (non miata), but I have never personally seen a 255 on a Miata so maybe others can chime in on that one. I think people under estimate the 190HP though, its plenty of fuel for most street cars. I had my fuel pressures jacked WAY up when I was on bandaids and it did just fine.
