the gasket on the oil return is cooked. will RTV sealant work. this is a track car so it sees pretty high temps. if the silicone is very thin it should be ok right. what do you guys think. auto parts store closes in a hour so if I need to get something I need to get moving. perhaps a piece of copper? what should i use.

 

Copper might work, if you can compress it sufficiently. I wouldn't recommend any type of RTV - I tried that once upon a time in an RX7, and it didn't work.

 

I bought some Fel-Pro exhaust gasket material the size of a legal pad and cut a gasket out of that, it works great.

 

man, I was just at the store, oh well. I'm going to just work on welding my seat bracket and do some other stuff. its not worth the effort to install the turbo without the right parts. If the flange had some type of indent or o-ring I might try the rtv. even if it works for now, I would hate to start pissing oil on the track and loose the car due to fire.
