Trying to source a few NEW Miata engine harness plugs

Guys,

I am looking to see if anyone knows where I can get these plugs for the engine harness NEW (with new pins)

CAS ('93 spec)
IACV ('2001 spec)
TPS ('2001 spec)
coolant temp sensor ('93 spec)

I have a Microsquirt ECU and I want to have the wires go right into the new pin-without splicing or soldering in a 10 year old plug and wire.

Additionally, I am going to need (but not Miata specific):
GM LSx ignition coil plugs
Injector plugs (stock Miata for now)
GM air temp sensor
GM map sensor

I am looking through Ballenger motorsports right now, but could use some help with the Miata spec stuff.

one would most likely look at the connector witch hunt thread, but then again, one may not be smart...

found thread... trying to decipher 12 pages of people not knowing much with 1 or 2 posts here and there...

Call the shop that lists all the parts in that thread. I believe VTballinger or someone with a name similar to that should be able to help you out.

IOW, we should spoon feed you?

Zaphod 01-14-2014 03:42 PM

I described every single bloody Miata connector that your are searching with a picture a manufacturer name and series and a part.nr. in this thread...
Come on...

Find the spread sheet in the witch hunt thread. it answers all your questions. I'd link it since its in my favorites, but its blocked at work.

Actually figured out a work around, I think possibly this will work maybe https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...1lCaHRsLU8yX2c

Did not find the 93 coolant sensor within 3 seconds, so I didn't bother anymore...

BTW this is the DIY part of the board - I guess this also applies to the searches... ;-)

Thanks.

I will keep picture updates of my build (starting in about 6 weeks) in my build thread.

Building the harness with a Molex XRC bulkhead connector (31 pin) to handle the whole engine harness.

I wasn't looking for a spoon feeding, I just didn't know about that thread.

Oh god yes. Engine pull/install will be so much better. Also going to be using a different high amp connector for all the power connections at the motor?

shlammed 01-15-2014 09:06 AM

the Molex is rated for 13A per circuit.
Im going to try to keep everything on that plug that is physically attached to the engine. (I don't have the amperage requirement for the '93 CAS yet, but I doubt it is that high)

The chassis type wiring will be on a separate firewall penetration and there will be a bulkhead through the firewall for the battery to the right hand shock tower where I will have a distribution block for starter and fan relay.

Leafy 01-15-2014 09:08 AM

High amp, I mean the starter and alternator.

shlammed 01-15-2014 09:11 AM

There will be a high power for those, yes.

I will be adding charging terminals either in the bay on the firewall portion of the wiper cowl or just under the windshield so I can give it a quick hit without pulling the hood (pinned hood)

BAM -> Ballenger Motorsports - Mazda Miata specific Connectors

It is actually from our main page on the lower left where we are starting to do vehicle specific pages. We just started with Miata because we track a turbo NB and Zaphod spoon fed the connector data in the witch hunt thread. LSx coil plugs and injector plugs are listed though if you get some LSx ones they are CONN-75601 for the kit and CONN-85601 for the pigtail where we just list the preferred truck coils.

GM Air temp kit is CONN-75643, pigtail is CONN-85643. GM Map... well there are a lot of GM Map Sensors. CONN-75559 for kit or CONN-85559 for pigtail if old school 2,3 bar one. Newer ones will use other connectors we have them listed, if you get stuck just ask.

Looks like I haven't gotten to coolant temp yet.

I wonder if we should sticky the connector witch hunt page with the mazda specific page above linked as it does take a fair number of pages to get to the source. I've been meaning to update that spreadsheet but the way its structured will take me a few hours to update it with all the part numbers as we offer the stuff with housings only, kits, pigtails etc. MAY cut down on confusion and questions I get.

shlammed 01-22-2014 11:31 AM

Awesome.

Do you offer something like the Molex XRC connector as well?
