Turbo build

Ok I have the following what else do I need to make this go at a simple 7psi. 1991 miata 1.6 88k just did timing belt , water pump, clutch, rear main seals ,front seals.

Garrett t25 turbo internal waste gate
I have header and downpipe.
Intercooler
I am ordering ms pnp
I am looking for a decent wideband any recommendations?
I need oil and water lines lengths and a good place to get them would be very helpful.
I have injectors mazda brown tops
Need intercooler piping I was going to fab something in my shop. I have plenty of fireproof PVC pipe left from a job.
Do I need a boost controller in addition to the msm?
Gauges any recommendations would help.
Blow off valves any thing worth looking at ?
Anyone selling any items let me know.

This, but i think i may try and help anyway because it's Monday and i'm a nice guy on Monday.

a simple 7psi uggh
Garrett t25 turbo internal waste gate
I have header and downpipe. What about the rest of the exhaust?
Intercooler
I am ordering msm pnp
I am looking for a decent wideband any recommendations? AEM UEGO
I need oil and water lines lengths and a good place to get them would be very helpful. Go to autozone for water lines, get new clamps. You're going to need to do your own legwork for oil feed line. Probably have to run a sandwitch plate for the oil filter and run it from there.
I have injectors mazda brown tops. Get something better
Need intercooler piping I was going to fab something in my shop. I have plenty of fireproof PVC pipe left from a job. Do not do this. Don't be stupid
Do I need a boost controller in addition to the msm? What? 7psi is probably less than wastegate pressure.
Gauges any recommendations would help. www.google.com
Blow off valves any thing worth looking at? Again, why not do your own legwork?
Anyone selling any items let me know. Find your own used parts fool.

Also, before you respond, read this thread
https://www.miataturbo.net/diy-turbo...big-post-4288/
Then read it again. Do this before posting in this thread again.

You're doing good by going for a MS, but i feel you still can't comprehend exactly what all you need.
If you don't read that and post in this thread we will know.

Where did you see MS? I saw MSM PNP. Mazda speed Miata plug n play?

Erat 03-24-2014 11:07 AM

Maybe we can hope he meant megasquirt.

Shoveit79 03-25-2014 09:23 AM

Sorry did mean megasquirt
I have a straight pipe to the muffler no cat and long tube headers on it now.
I'm getting rid of the long tube I have a header and down pipe.
Why can't you use PVC it's fire rated for heat. Not Home Depot crap we use it for high pressure water.

If I install sandwich plate I just run my feed off the two taps?
Can I eliminate tapping the oil pan with the sandwich plate?

Erat 03-25-2014 09:50 AM

You still need to drill a hole on the pan for the return.

Weather you tap it for a bung, or weld one on it's up to you.

LOL, whoah. Never seen that picture, what a beast. :giggle:

Leach0789 03-28-2014 01:23 PM

Lol that thing is floating all around the internet over here on the East coast. It's currently for sale on Craigslist in New Hampshire.

PVC

Yes that is one fugly job. The material I use is completely different. Fittings are more compact and have a cleaner look. Plus I was going to paint everything before final install.

Golferluke 04-04-2014 12:03 AM

Pictures of your header (manifold?) and downpipe? Or what brand they are/who made them? what garret t25 turbo is it?

90-94 actually have an oil feed port on the hot side of the block, more info here Also on the wiki there is alot of other useful information that will help you alot.

For water lines its really simple, pictures are on the wiki but just remove the hose between the mixing manifold and the thermostat and basically run a hose from the thermostat housing to the turbo, and one from the turbo to the mixing manifold.

High quality pvc is functional but regardless of how good it is or how you paint it, its still going to look like pvc but thats up to you.

The tan top injectors are 265cc, I don't know much about 1.6s fuel pressure etc but I doubt thats going to be enough for 7psi but again check out the wiki and do some searching there is plenty of info out there.

Just search using google to search this site, for example type in: site:miataturbo.net 1.6 tan injectors and the second link is this (which you should read all of anyways... like 3 times)

Good Luck

Oil will degrade PVC, you will have oil inside your intercooler piping. This is why you don't plumb an air system for a shop with PVC. Cold temps make it brittle, and oil degrades it... never use PVC for air systems that may be oil contaminated or that will be used below freezing... you are better off playing with a pipe bomb. Oil contamination and freezing temps are both conditions you will see in a cars engine bay.

It's not PVC, PVC is shit. It's cpvc. High heat, high pressure, thermo plastic. It can be used in extreme cold and extreme heat condition.

dieselmiata 04-04-2014 01:56 PM

At first I was going to jump in with some smart-ass remark, but looking further into it I don't see a reason CPCV wouldn't work, assuming you can find a way to clamp the pieces together without blowing off. It's rated for some impressive pressure and temperature ratings, and corrosion resistant so I guess it would work.

Still seems like a ghetto-fabulous fix however, considering how cheap aluminum pipe is. CPVC isn't exactly cheap.

Only reason I wanted to use it is because I have a bunch of piping left over so free works for me.
Also did anyone take the bov and redirect it back into the turbo or should I just let it blow off into the the atmosphere. I think that's how the fm kit is designed.

It's a Megan racing header and downpipe I picked up from someone on cl.

dieselmiata 04-04-2014 02:45 PM

Do you have an AFM? If so, recirc the BOV.

Do you have a standalone ECU? VTA.

Do you want your turbo nice and quiet? Recirc the BOV.

Do you like the sound of a BOV? VTA.

Shoveit79 04-05-2014 02:13 PM
