Turbo decision....which to go with?

I previously had a greddy kit on my 1.6 and I am over that and have sold it. I got it up to about 210 whp and 197wtq which wasn't bad i suppose. I now want to turbo her again and will more than likely be using a megasquirt again. I had the walbro 190 high flow fuel pump and was running 550 Rx7 injectors. I've got a torsen rear end, a nice act clutch/flywheel setup and a koyo aluminum race radiator (37mm). I think I should be fine with up to about 240-250whp on my stock internals (fingers crossed). The motor has very good compression and is also in good shape.

Enough with the background info on the car....I want about 240-250 whp out of my 1.6 liter and this is going to be a budget build and I will be using cheap parts and making my own FMIC and what not. What turbo should I go with to have fairly quick boost build up?

The turbos I am looking at now consist of:
1. chinacharger t3/t4 (not sure which a/r to go with)
2. chinacharger t3 super 60
3. used oem nissan T28
4. used oem nissan T25
5. chinacharger 16G

I am on a tight budget for this build because I am saving up for a v8 build on it and can't stand driving it around stock in the meantime since I had 209whp previously.

Any help will be appreciated but rule of thumb...the turbo has to be cheaply priced...Spending 1000-1200 on a turbocharger is out of the question for me bcuz this is only temporary and just for shits and giggles want to try out an ebay/ chinacharger setup.

#1 is oversized
#4 will not reach your goal.

Go with #3.

whichever is cheapest between the china super 60 and nissan t28 since you won't stay boosted for too long.

hrrmmm so....

1. chinacharger t3 super 60
2. used oem nissan T28
3. chinacharger 16G

How did you like your T3 super 60 Braineack? I remember you ran that in the past (maybe even currently not sure)

Not to start this argument again, but every Chinese 16g I've seen or read about self destructs in little to no time. If you are going to go the eBay turbo route, it looks like the evidence here on MT points to Garrett knockoffs having good life spans. Lots of people here running them successfully.

how about a t3/t04e?

I searched and saw that a few people have used that setup on a 1.6 liter.

lame. get a properly sized turbo that will take full advantage of a sub 250rwhp setup.

ie, something good for 25-30 lb/min

i have decided on a brand new OEM mitsubishi Evo III 16G turbo.

I've got one of those to go on my '92. I'm thinking it'll be plenty of fun.
