S-t-e-p 1 (first thing you should do) Read the "sticky" post for the noobs.

S-t-e-p 2 (things that follows the first thing you should do) review build threads in the "build thread" section.

S-t-e-p 3 (things to do in case step 1 and 2 are not effective) repeat step 1 and step 2 till you have an idea where you're standing.

Yup, basically the only post in this now three page thread that has said anything worth reading. Like I said, I get the frustration, and I wasn't personally attacking anybody, all I'm saying is I was shocked at the disrespect that followed. First and foremost, I do my best not to judge... but secondly, if I do think someone is ignorant, my first reaction is not usually to insult them for it. Especially when they respond not by getting defensive or rude, but by going with the flow and still being kind.

But when someone is as ignorant and lazy as OP and asks one of the top 10 stupidest questions you can possibly come up with on a miata turbo forum, you can bet he'll be getting sarcastic replies.

cliff notes: we don't spoon feed.
I get it, really. The sarcasm seemed more like insults to me, that's all, a lot of which came before he even had the chance to respond to the second post (and then his next post even made light on the fact that someone called him stupid! I just felt this guy deserved a little more credit or respect than he was being given, he clearly stated after that this was the first forum he's signed up for).

I believe you when you say you do go out of your way to help others learn. I already stated that earlier, and thank you for the negative prop by the way, not sure how my response to you deserved it though. Everybody starts somewhere, and I've spent a lot of time on forums like these. It just irks me that as a community, people would rather use their time to post a worthless insult than provide any kind of assistance. I'm not saying spoon feed the guy, as the saying goes, teach him to fish. PhillyB began that process immediately, but why don't we go through and count the number of posts in this thread and determine which posts were utterly worthless, and which provided any assistance at all.

I'm just guessing here, but....

when a newbie, which people don't have problems with on this site, asks questions that have already been answered, organized, thoroughly discussed and have CLEARLY been made accessible, it makes the users in this community who have actually spent their time (for free I might add) trying to build a database feel like they have utterly wasted hours.

Think about if you were in a classroom, and the teacher put everything you needed to know on the screen including all of the answers for an assignment, and yet you still went up to your professor and asked him/her about what you needed to do in order to finish thus assignment. If I were that prof, I'd probably just tell you to leave. Now on the other hand, if those questions were about the answers and maybe about how some of them didn't make sense, or if something was wrong, that's a bit different

so stop crying

Heh, just got done wiping the tears away, thanks . With one last statement, I will respectfully bow out of this thread, because this is just ridiculous. My thought process is that as a community that's here to help connect those who have a great understanding of these things with those who don't, the time could be better spent responding respectfully (and maybe even intelligently... seems difficult for some people in this thread) than searching the internet for pictures to post up to insult somebody. THAT sounds like a waste of time to me...

I have not been here since 2008 reading. I had a Miata in 2008, so I registered, purchased a turbo kit, read, etc. I ended up selling the Miata before I really got a chance to go where I wanted with it sadly. I have been back a few times since, because I've considered purchasing another Miata several times, with the intent of going FI. Now that I am officially purchasing one this week, I am back. Not sure why you're even asking these questions or why they matter? I'm not the OP, all I was saying was maybe people's responses could have been a little more constructive...

Dude, I think you're still missing the point... nobody is trying to "put you off"... we're treating you like an adult. If we had simply answered your questions and been nice, it would have been treating you as if you were a child. However, you don't treat children like we treat noobs as a lesson on how to behave. We are teaching you like men with dicks and ***-hair should be treated and taught... like a freaking MAN BABY!!!

Guys who get all butt-hurt and leave the forum after some basic hazing would never have contributed anything anyways since they probably lacked a basic sense of humor and lets face it... if you're a man with ***-hair and drive a Miata, you're either a legit homosexual or the exact opposite... no middle ground... and a sense of humor is mandatory.

Go back and read this whole thread again. Laugh at yourself for asking a dumb question that was answered in depth in a sticky. Then laugh at yourself for taking our jokes seriously. Then find something useful to start a thread about... like maybe you're somebody who has an intimate knowledge of the inner-workings of a fireworks factory and some good pictures... then start an INTRO thread or post up your stuff in the BS forum and BECOME A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY. Now you are being productive and useful and we really are starved around here for that kind of stuff.

PS: The internet is very serious business, just ask around.

QFT.

If you don't have much of a sense of humor then Miata.net might suit you better.

It's good your sticking around. I've already learn a lot of things just lurking and searching around on this forum, and I haven't been a member long.

No doubt, the mt.net community can help you with any trouble you may have during your turbo build... Just makes sure you search first, because more than likely someone probably had a similar issue or question
