Turbo Fasteners Backing Off Solution

Kinglock nut anyone?

Anyone try it?

nitrodann 11-14-2014 09:38 PM

How much and where from?

Looks great for high vibration applications.
I wonder if they're good for high temps.

Yes, I was curious about this as well. I don't know exactly how the design works, but it looks like there is 2 different materials involved, and I guess it depends on what they are and the thermal coefficients of them.

The problem is not the nut

The problem is the stud and it stretching when hot and under tension

18psi 11-16-2014 04:29 AM

Correct. It's not just vibration, its heat too.
Stage8 fasteners already completely take care of the vibration, so this is kinda.....well, pointless

Leafy 11-16-2014 08:57 AM

These are neat. But like 18psi said, the stage 8 fasteners that the hard core types use fix the vibration issue and the inconel studs fix the elongation under heat issue.
