Turbo manifold
 

Hi , I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this manifold?

Or would I be better off with HK$?

That photo is too small to really tell, but it looks exactly like the HKS. You might also consider the top-mount orientation of that manifold sucks. It's great for getting the turbo away from your accessories, but tough to heat-shield it from cooking the paint off the hood. Also, nobody makes a downpipe or any sort of intercooler "kit" that will match it, so all of that stuff will need to be custom. FYI.

one thing we do know about ssautogay is that their fittment is generaly shit, im not a 100% on the cast 1.6, but people have had lots of problems with the 1.8 mani they sell
general consensus, stay away from anything from SSautocrack

A top mount like the Greddy isn't a problem with heat shielding. Look at the heatshield Joe posted. The bigger issue is the routing of the DP. Even with the bellmouth 2.5" DP it was a tight fit.

Look pretty much like an exact copy of the Greddy manifold - however with their track record it would probably crack in a week!

just make a bracket or two and you will be golden. I have a megan tubular and it has been holding my turbo up in the air all week!

yes well that is an UNBRACED megan manifold too! though i'm not sure how long it will last without a brace when i actually start the car :jerkit:

Cheers for the response. I think I may just save up the extra $$$ and go with the ETD tubular. I dont like the idea of having to deal with a cracked manifold.

Good choice - definitely worth spending the extra for added peace of mind!

lwindridge im also from the UK. Did you just import all your parts or are there any good places to get parts from over here?

At the current exchange rate it's worth looking to import the stuff.

What sort of turbo spec are you looking to build up?

why not get a BeGi, its cheaper and has a bolt on downpipe available.

Yeah fuel is ~4 times more expensive there.

in a world where Iraqi's buy gas from Kuwait pretty much anything about gas prices makes sense.


pound is still 2:1 to the dollar that more than makes up for the shipping on expensive of parts.

I tryed looking at Begi but could not find a price just for the manifold. Im also going to have a custom dp so i can have an exhaust valve in the DP so i can run either open DP :vash: or stock system.

As far as turbo spec im just looking to peice it together as I go. I was thinking T3. Although I still dont fully understand the trim?, time for googling. My aim is eventually 200whp.

I would seriously consider the BEGi S kit - at least then you'll have a good start point and they're readily available from mx5mad.com too.

You need to decide on your turbo first otherwise, then pick your manifold as they have to be matched.
Then it's on to your downpipe which relies on the other two being selected first.

My Greddy kit runs over 200whp when I've got the boost cranked up in summer - even in the winter at 7psi it's over 180 so if you're heading towards a T3 then you've got a lot more chance of going above 250whp easily, although you need a decent ECU and associated bits first before you can effectively get above 150.
