Default Project finishing questions!

So I got this 10lb flywheel, with the clutch I bought paid $100 for all of it. But with a turbo and six puck clutch is there any advantage or disadvantages to a lightweight flywheel? also does anyone know where to get a check valve for my brake booster? And should I use a gasket between a new manifold and my greddy turbo? and the metal coolant line that bolts by the manifold goes on the outside of the manifold right? sorry for all the ?s but I can't find definite answers I',m sure Ill be adding some more later

A lightweight flywheel will mean a little more vibration and drivetrain shudder, and a lot faster revving in the lower gears. If you are making a lot of power the 4.10 rear gearing and lightweight flywheel will cause first gear to go by very quickly. That is a good thing if you can keep traction, and a bad thing if you can't.

It made an enormous difference on my RX7. I loved it. I am looking for a second-hand lightweight flywheel right now for the Miata.

I won't spend the money on a flywheel, but I spent it on a knife-edged crank.

You can use a gasket, but you'll be happier in the long-run (or first week) if you get both surfaces decked so they're flat. Some people replace the gasket constantly, some don't...but I think just about 100% of us who go with surfacing don't have to deal with it and use the time we save to attract beautiful women.

I don't understand the coolant line question.

I sold mine and put the dough towards something else. There is a demand for these from the non-boost crew.

If anybody has an extra lightweight flywheel, my wheezing, naturally aspirated 1.8 really needs one until I achieve the boost miracle.
Oh, yeah, and a strong used pressure plate...

Threadjacked!!! Sorry.

I have no gasket between the manifold/turbo or the turbo/downpipe. My last setup had both gaskets....and both failed.

yeah I know the coolant line your talking about, it goes on the outside because it always gets hung up when I try to pull off the manifold

I took mine and drilled the hole a little bigger so I wouldn't have that problem.

I asked myself the same question about the bracket when I was putting my new turbo stuff on.....then I thought about it for a minute.
